Jethro Management is primarily a software development company. Our core specialties lie in the Visual Basic for Applications Language, which is the Microsoft Office Visual Basic Language used with Office Applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Access.

Typical application development is performed in Microsoft Excel and interfaces with Corporate Systems such as SAP, Oracle and other large database applications, or mid-sized business solutions such as Attaché, CBA, SQL and .NET applications, or small business solutions such as QuickBooks, MYOB and other small databases.

Solutions are usually aimed to improve business reporting, budgeting, process flow, document management, customer relations management and increases in productivity. Often large gains are achieved by automating repetitive manual tasks with ‘macros’.

A major component of good software development and implementation is good functional and technical specifications. One of our key strengths is the ability to perform qualitative business analysis that can transform business needs into good functional and technical documentation. Post implementation reviews and extensive training manuals and user training also assist in the handover to the business.

We also have a full web services division providing our clients with hosting, web application development, website construction, theming, ongoing maintenance and management and migration from existing systems.

A key component to Jethro Management is the assistance provided by the resources of Jethro Consultants, a partnership that provides a support role in supplying office space, hardware and equipment to team. The functions provided by both organisations are included in this document.

Our Team

Chief Executive Officer – Timothy Miller
Tim Miller has a background in chartered and then management accounting. A transition to contract consulting work in 1995 gained him valuable business analysis skills. Being involved in numerous large corporate and government projects gave Tim experience in managing focus groups, team work, and access to the bigger picture. Tim actively works for numerous clients personally, as well as managing projects the sub consultants are delegated to.

Software Development Team
Andrew Engwirda is an Excel and VBA developer. Andrew has extensive experience with Excel and his contributions to the worldwide user community meant that Microsoft have awarded him an MVP (Most Valued Professional) for his efforts. Andrew works directly with some clients on Excel and VBA projects and also performs work under supervision. Andrew is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Bob Phillips is an Excel and VBA developer. Bob has had a long career in UK Financial institutions and has very strong software development skills. He is a Microsoft MVP for Excel. Bob works on contract directly developing large applications for Jethro’s clients. Bob is based in the UK and works remotely.

Nicholas Perkins is an Excel and VBA developer. Nick has been working in government for over 10 years and primarily works with Excel to streamline internal business processes. Nick works on contract directly developing large applications for Jethro’s clients. Bob is based in the Brisbane, Australia.

Mark Downing is an accountant with a strong local government focus. Mark is a skilled mathematician and loves solving complex problems. Mark has extremely good Excel and VBA skills and also has very strong spreadsheet design skills. Mark works with very large data sets and is very good at optimising spreadsheet efficiency through good formulas and data management techniques. Mark is based in Brisbane Australia and works on contract when required.

Kitty Spinda is a business analyst with a honours degree in Information Technology. Her background as a software developer means she understands the software development cycle. She brings her keen mind and excellent documentation skills to Jethro. Her assistance on large software development projects is invaluable.

Paul Scotchford is a Microsoft Access, CBA, SQL and ASP.NET programmer. He has had extensive experience with large projects with companies like QIC, Rio Tinto, TAB Corp etc. Paul is based in Brisbane Australia and works on contract as required.

Web Services Division
Gordon and Jeanene Atkinson are a husband wife team who manage our web services division. Gordon is the manager and Jeanene acts as his PA. Gordon has been working with web technology and hosting for several years and brings a wealth of experience at managing large community websites. Gordon and Jeanene are based in San Antonio, Texas and work remotely.

Neil Abraham is a web developer with a extensive background in the US embassy, high level security clearances and charged with organising presidential visits. He has exceptional people management skills, great web development skills, and is very methodical. His ability to conceptualise large problems assist with his solving them quickly and efficiently. Neil has skills in TV and video editing, web streaming, HTML, Java, Flash and PHP. Neil is based in Brisbane.

Rohan Hills is a Linux and Windows network administrator and a DBA. Rohan is proficient in PHP, CGI, Perl, Javascript, HTML and CSS. MySQL Databases and cPanel web admin are more key competencies. Rohan is based on the Gold Coast and manages all our web database administration.

Doug McCaughan is a web application specialist majoring in web development and business system integration. Doug is proficient in ColdFusion, PHP, Javascript, HTML and CSS. He is based in Knoxville, Tennessee and works on a contract basis for various clients as needed.

Matthew Brown is a web developer and specialises in Drupal theming for Jethro. Matt is proficient in PHP, Javascript, HTML and CSS. He is based in Brisbane, Australia and works on a contract basis for various clients as needed.

Jamie Rochfort is a web developer. He works on PHP, HML and CSS theme design, Drupal implementation and management. He is based in China and works remotely part time as required.

Amanda Abraham is a research assistant and Content Management System data entry operator and maintainer. She works part time in our Brisbane office.

Support Staff
Jethro contracts and employs a number of administrative and support staff who assist in managing clients, documentation, payroll and hr management, and also in providing other services to clients.

Judith Miller is our office manager and PA for Tim Miller. She is invaluable in ensuring that documentation is accurate, staff timetables are coordinated and the office runs smoothly. She also performs numerous book keeping services to some key clients. Judith works full time in our Brisbane office.

Kathie Morris is a book keeper proficient in Attaché, MYOB, and Excel. She is based in Brisbane Australia and works on a contract basis for various clients as needed.

Ben Cooper is a hardware technician we use for our PC builds and repairs, onsite callouts network and PC troubleshooting and installation. He is based in Brisbane Australia and works on a contract basis as needed.

Our Clients
Jethro Management has been providing services since its inception in 2001 to corporations and government departments in Australia. Key large clients include the Department of Main Roads, RoadTek, Queensland Transport, AAPT Cellular One, Queensland Investment Corporation, Anglo Coal, Spiritus and Suncorp.

Numerous smaller clients include Datacare, Flexicare, Sauers Bakehouse, Rotech, Golden Circle Cannery, Aged Care Standards Agency, Queensland Studies Authority, Sonitron, Belso Interiors, Baird Produce, Visypak, TSI Corp and others.

Jethro Management has a slogan, Jethro is Excellence. This is in partly a play on words, Jethro being a Hebrew word meaning Excellent combined with Microsoft Excel. However more importantly it describes our work ethic.
